I declined 5 consecutive orders like this. If you use #DoorDash, you need to tip if you want your order. We won't deliver at a loss, & 26 miles round trip for $2.50 would be a loss even in a Prius.Unless you're disabled, DoorDash is a luxury, not a necessity. Do better.

@allenstenhaus Hell yes. If you're not able to afford a tip, you can't afford DoorDash. Period. Full stop.

@allenstenhaus "But tipping culture is bullshit"Not tipping will not harm the company, but sure harms the "independent contractor" with virtually no worker rights or protections.

@Elizafox @allenstenhaus I often see people complain about tipping culture in order to justify not tippingAnd I'm like, you realize you can be against tipping culture while also not withholding wages from people right? That's like an employer not giving health benefits because they believe there should be universal healthcareIt's just an excuse, not a logical reason and probably a straight up lie

@raphaelmorgan @Elizafox Not tipping to fight tipping culture benefits the business owner who uses tipping to suppress wages. Short of writing it into law, the only way to eliminate tipping culture is to stop patronizing businesses that expect it.In the case of DoorDash, it's even worse. Delivery is hard on vehicles, we pay all the maintenance costs, & our hourly pay is $0 per hour. We literally only make money from tips. Can't wait until I can quit.
