It is only an artifact of the blog author's (questionable) analysis.The diagram provided by the blog author shows a ballistic trajectory with an axis of symmetry that is not aligned with the radius of the earth. This is not proof that his analysis is incorrect, but it's a strong indication that he doesn't have a strong understanding of physics. It's enough for me to not spend additional time verifying his analysis, which is likely impossible without all of the data that the Navy engineers used in their analysis.I was hoping for something a little more obvious and less convoluted.
