LWN's Fosstodon account was created because we had requests for a feed here. Now somebody has reported us as a spam account and we are getting warnings from the moderators. Evidently we aren't interacting enough. So it may be that this stream is about to go away, our apologies.

@LWN FYI, there's some general etiquette rules on fedi regarding feed accounts: - Post as unlisted instead of global, as to not displace real humans from the local and federated feeds. - Mark the account as a botYou don't seem to be following either of these, that's probably what the complaints were about.

You can move your account without losing your followers, just in case you didn't know that.

@jonossaseuraava @boilingsteam @LWN @pthenq1 To be fair, it is right there in fosstodon's server rules - they do not want RSS feeds mirrored to their timeline, essentially. Apparently a lot of fosstodon's users aren't even aware of this rule, otherwise they wouldn't have requested an LWN feed on there in the first place.
