       Does anyone else remember Bebo?In the UK at one point it was actually more popular than Facebook and MySpace.As so frequently happened around that time, the original founders sold it to AOL at the height of its popularity, then AOL sold it at a massive loss.Apparently Amazon tried to revive it recently, but cancelled the project before it left beta phase.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bebo

       @TrechNex I only remember the name.Wonder if the founders took that sweet AOL cash and travel the planet taking photos just like MySpace Tom.Ahh Myspace Tom, my first social media friend.

       tbh I think the only way its downfall could have been more cliche is if they'd sold it to Yahoo! because that company made a *lot* of bad bets as well. 😂​It doesn't surprise me that AOL and Yahoo! are now owned by the same conglomerate (Verizon)
