FoundKey has quite a lot of interest from me as the main contributors (mainly Johann, who was the top 1 non-Japanese contributor to Misskey, which is... impressive considering syuilo) has a lot of interest in working with the rest of the network (Pleroma, Akkoma, Mastodon, etc) on federating better with us, making the changes for that and putting a lot of work and thought on how to represent things well in ActivityPub :neko_smiley: There's a lot of work on fixing major Misskey issues too and the difficult Misskey codebase, and that's honestly a lot of work they've been doing in addition to their federation. They're also interested into making FoundKey more focused on self-hosting than on being a centralised misskey.io backend (which Misskey seems to be focused on), which to me is a really good thing for the network :menherathumbsup: Considering they're the devs I see the most on my timeline and notifications from the Misskey side of things, that may seem biased, but I've never seen any other Misskey forks (Japanese forks, English forks or others) interact with the other fedi devs I know of and/or follow, and that's a big deal for me when working on fedi software!Everytime I've had an issue with Misskey federation, I've only had replies from FoundKey developers, and that's been really helpful, so i can only recommend it and their work! :kannapray1::kannapray2::kannapray3: Please check out their work at https://akkoma.dev/FoundKeyGang/FoundKey, they haven't removed the Misskey branding yet because they've prioritised themselves on the software, but consider trying it out and maybe contributing if you like it or want to add features!

@helene@p.helene.moe Foundkey is an awesome fork! I'm really grateful I get to use their work in Calckey and that Johann has personally helped with my fork too. IMO the more forks the better!

@thatonecalculator I wouldn't say that the more the better, but if people have conflicting goals or don't want to submit patches, then it's better to fork :neko_smiley:

@helene@p.helene.moe ive been giving thought to it and I'm glad Calckey and Foundkey can coexist. Foundkey's goal is complete security and no-nonsense, while calckey's is more a mishmash of community requests and opinionated styling. Both are cool imo, and if someone else has a new vision I'll highly encourage them to fork
