@hj go has pretty much grown out of google and even if google killed it at this point, it's too good to die, it would just not; node.js is technically backed by google (v8.js) by the same standards

@lanodan @hj not that the "official" Go compiler, based on the Plan9 compilers, would be dying anytime soon either; if anything, it could live longer than gcc really simply because it can actually be compiled with almost any C compiler

@hj golang isn't really niche; elixir is, golang isn't, it already has installed itself quite widely, but if you like that idea then sure... won't really convince you either way, i thinki don't rely on companies to do things, facebook could kill of react, the vue maintainer could kill vue, etcif google dropped go right now, it would still do perfectly fine simply because it doesn't rely on google, you'd only have minor annoyances that would be quickly fixed by other people picking go back up

i'd use c++ so much more if the ecosystem wasn't absolute unusable garbage; the only dependencies you can use reliably are header-only libraries and you can't even rely on libc or libcxx to be reliable/good, which i find incredible too

ryona(.)agency is using the domains gangstalking(.)services, freequeefextremist(.)com and pissqordia(.)space to circumvent instance blocks and archive fediverse instances.cum(.)camp is doing also circumventing instance blocks with selq(.)me, which is an alias for gangstalking(.)services.If you use secure mode in mastodon/pleroma/akkoma/others, you might want to block these domains, as well as the *.onion.pet and *.onion.ly services which are also used to those purposes, to prevent those instances from accessing and archiving your posts.There'll likely be more popping up; if you are concerned by those things, you might want to keep an eye out

@Jackuu @Hyolobrika it's not about having things to hide, really, it's about etiquette. you're making the same argument as the people who think companies or governments spying on them is not an issue; if you feel that way, it's not really of my opinion then, and people hosting their own services may do as they please

anyhow this was pretty much the last thing i wanted to do since it bugged me off, i'll be shutting this instance down now; hopefully other people's fedi experience can end up better. mine hasn't been enjoyable in the past months, and i see no reason to stayword of advice from me: blocking is not a sin, privilege your friends and good discussions instead of random people barging in to be annoyinghave fun and be nice to each other
