Does anyone here run #thunderbird with very large mailboxes covering over 15y? I decided to give it a try, part of my de-Microsoft-ing, and it’s near unusable for the freezing. I’ve tried the anti-virus exception, turning off windows indexing and deleting the *.msf files.

Still hangs. Before I added my main account I REALLY liked #thunderbird and was excited to make the switch. Add my main work account and personal account and it breaks. Having different programs for work and personal is not an option.

@Jeff I don't want to argue, but I'm curious: why do you want to keep your work e-mails and your personal e-mails together? Or is it just that you want to use the same MUA?

@mpjgregoire I am a company of one, and my personal, work and volunteer lives have a lot of overlap. Some friends email me work things to my business account, some volunteer things land in my personal, etc. Without having one place I can see everything I miss things. I’ve tried to separate them, but people just type your name and hit enter without looking when composing so it is what it is. If I ever get a “real” job I would enforce the boundary.
