Buran, a gemini browser, has a bar for inputting the gemini address you want to load.If you don't specify the protocol, and the domain doesn't exist, it will offer to perform a search. It won't do so without consent. It has a separate button in the menu for using the URL input as a search box (which seems to have no way to disable until you perform a search).Overall, pretty good. Why the fuck is there not a single graphical https browser that can get this right anymore?

@Zergling_man The target demographic is different, I guessI will say though that Firefox will choose any valid URL combination before searching; however, its URL detection can be somewhat spotty (it doesn't like spaces in URL names, it doesn't like certain protocols) and if it doesn't think it's a url there's nothing you can do to force it to otherwise.

@cyastis In other words, firefox's behaviour is wrong.Like it even has a dedicated search box. Since it's there, it is reasonable to assume that if I want to do a search, I will use the search box, and thus if I did not use the search box, I did not want to search.

@Zergling_man That in particular I dislike about Firefox's behaviorIf you change the UI to add a separate search bar, the chances are you don't want to search in the URL bar automatically. But that's exactly what Firefox assumes

@cyastis I don't recommend using FF anyway, due to censorship/troonery reasons, among many other things, btw.
