       I really want to like #tailscale, but the requirement of what SSO you use is so limiting.🤦 I'll stick to raw #wireguard with generation using #consul.I know, authentication is hard. Yet, we shouldn't pretend #Google and #Microsoft are the only ones that know how.

       @zeabHave you considered #zerotier from zerotier.com or #nebula from defined.net both are #sd-#wan.

       @NatCor I know of #nebula but haven't taken the time to mess about. It's also because of how simple is #wireguard. Though that's also the reason why #tailscale has been making a killing. 😅Nebula was built in slack to handle their needs. So it's definitely already heavily tested. And may make sense the more I think about it. As for #zerotier, don't know enough to have an opinion on it.

       @zeabZerotier is like nebula however, #Zerotier provides the lighthouse with option to use your own lighthouse. #Nebula, you need to provide your own lighthouse. Both transverse without hole punching the #firewall, not forced to use goggle or other SSO.

       @NatCor I'm perfectly fine with setting up the lighthouse 🚨 on my own. Still, it's nice to see #zerotier has some batteries included features.Personally, I would go with #nebula if I would ever switch from #wireguard. I like little complexity, but I also like my choices to follow Unix philosophy. If they do more than one thing, they better have a darn good reason *cough* #hashicorp #consul *cough*. 😅

       @zeab I know what you mean. Tailscale is magical but there are two things that make me uncomfortable:- Requirement to use Google / Microsoft / Github to login- The fact that their centralized server manages keys/ACL...But it's so good...

       @OneWheelGeek precisely it. Their product is really good, but the shortcomings are also equally great.For me, the deal breaker was their chosen SSOs. 😮‍💨 I don't use any of those services for accounts. And while I do have a github account, I only use that to contribute to projects.Rather not github be my central identity. ⛔ Especially when it's for access to all my overlay networking.
