I need personal finance management system recommendations- Not spreadsheets- Not GNU Cash- Not (h)ledger/beancount- Not YNAB/Mint- Not EveryDollar- Something that is privacy-conscious- Need to enter transactions quickly on mobile- Envelope budgeting features very good- Self-hosted is a bonus- Don't mind paying like $15/mo for it

@lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me personally, half of what makes a personal finance thing "good" is a very pleasant and simple UX. If important features are too complex, I won't end up using them (YNAB/GNU Cash). If it's too open-ended, I'll never put in the work to make it good (spreadsheets). If entering transactions takes more than a few minutes, I'll procrastinate and never do it.:akko_badday:

@reykjalin@fosstodon.org I do have very high hopes for it but the lack of a usable mobile app kind of kills it for me at the moment. I might try writing my transactions down on the back of my todo list notecard then entering them when I get back home though :bunthink:

@amolith I’ve just been exporting stuff from my bank in the Quicken format and importing that into Actual once a week or so. I don’t really need to be 100% up-to-date all the time.If you do find something that works better for you though, I’d be very interested in hearing about it! It’s very hard to find a good personal budgeting application :blobcatdizzy:

@amolithI'm using Kresus https://kresus.org/en/I'm not 100% sure that it will fit (it is mainly aimed to connect to your bank and fetch operations by itself), but you can create a bank without any access and enter transactions manually.You can set a categroy for each transaction and set a budget globally or for each category.And it is self-hostable (quite easily with Yunohost https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/kresus_ynh )
