It seems almost impossible to get a phone with a good camera and an audio jack and sd card. The former is found only on pricier models. And the latter only on budget models. There are some mid range compromises but that's the general trend and I hate it.

@ihabunek does Xiaomi Mi A1 have a bad camera? How do I tell if my phone's camera is any good?

@wolf480pl I should have prefaced this by saying I haven't done a comprehensive investigation. :) What I'd call a good camera should be able to take decent pictures at low ambient lighting. That's where most low to mid range cameras are pretty bad.

@ihabunek hmm I should test that with my Mi A1.What do you mean by low ambient light? Like night, or like cloudy day, or like under a desk?It is otherwise a nice phone - dual sim, microsd (occupies same space as sim2, can't have both at the same time), 3.5mm jack, fairly AOSP-like stock firmware, works fine with LineageOS too.Though I guess it's kinda old by now...

@wolf480pl @ihabunek right, most mid/high-end cameras behave quite good these days, and the "night shots" are mostly handled by multiple exposures, software and everything - with that small a sensor, we can't expect more.

@wolf480pl My phone tends to produce pretty grainy images at twilight or on particularly cloud days. Full nighttime is a problem. Also the colours tend to be washed out and require fiddling with levels. The second one is more of a software problem I think.
