got pissed off today reading eilat maoz's - one of my fav leftist intellectuals - criticism of #TheDawnofEverything by #graeber and wengrow. #marxists assuming that #anarchists don't "get" #marx (instead of seeing the legit disagreement), when will end? :ancom:😒👌(my dad sent me the article with this msg: 'better then the book'... 🙄)

@nebuchi Gave up on reading that book with a feeling it needs some very thorough editing. I think as much as my like Graeber's ideas, I just can't stomach his attitude add delivery.

@nebuchi It's been a while, so I don't remember the details, but the main things were that they were repeating the same argument again and again and that they were argumentative against some unspecified adversaries, while at the same time not providing much in the way of tools or facts by which to be able to judge or learn. By the umpteenth time they repeated the argument (which I don't remember!) I was like, fine, I agree, I don't care.

@yair @nebuchi I really liked the book, but I fully agree with this criticism. It is extremely argumentative and verbose.
