i was sick with the #gardening hubris this winter and grew on my balconey a whole lot of the edible cactus known as #nopales. all was well until it all broke down and fell 3 stories to its inevitable death - or so i thought. i put some cactus leaves in a bucket i had near the cars and you can see for yourself that lots of green fresh leaves are now growing. a little fun fact: this cactus is immune to the disease that is now infecting many of the prickly pears in the #middleeast. blessings 🙌🌱

i've been following the high uv radiation alerts in the past year or so, watching them increase in frequency. it is now dangerous to simply be outside during daylight in the long summer months. i have always been somewhat of a bat - a cave-dwelling nocturnal animal - but what i think is coming now is real social change. those of us who can afford it will have to stay indoors during the day and meet others between dusk and dawn 🦇#climateCrisis #middleEast #israel

i just finished #vforvendetta last night and it was super exciting. but: isn't #alanmoore's idea of an 'anarchist revolution' sort of similar to #marx's historical determenism? i remember him talking about it in the #margaretkilljoy interview - that #anarchism has a chaotic phase before it becomes orderly again. surely this applies when a people break from total fascism, but isn't sometimes the reality of the process so much nicer, eg mutual aid networks?

people are coming into the fedi and they're like, "why is this like this? why isn't this like that?". you've been conditioned to complain to a uninterested corporate entity. the fedi is not like that. you can either create something to suit your needs, or just participate in whatever's already happening. also: you've just arrived, try looking at the fedi from a pov of curiosity.
