Can anyone help me make sense of this? 1. OpenStreetMaps is asking for donated capacity to serve up data because the existing systems can't handle it. https://github.com/openstreetmap/operations/issues/6372. They have a torrent "to help with reducing load on OSM servers." https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Planet.osm#BitTorrent_RSS.2FAtom_feed3. "this has nothing to do with torrents" https://github.com/openstreetmap/operations/issues/637 (in the comments that are now hidden)

@adam From the pages below, it sounds like #OpenStreetMap renders changed tiles for the web site continuallyish as folks add to the data. Torrents would presumably help distribute a big chunk of rendered data, like maybe when one downloads a region onto a phone? But could never help do the actual rendering because it's not a data replication problem.https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Component_overviewhttps://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Slippy_Map#OpenStreetMap_.22Standard.22_tile_server(And maybe @openstreetmap has corrections or a description of when torrents do help?)
