       I use a VPN for everything and its weird how I get captchas on youtube but not when I'm using newpipe. I doubt its leaking because the firewall should block everything that isn't going through the tunnel. Also if there's a VPN disruption newpipe stops working too.

       @RustyCrab Youtube is always trying to fuck with newpipe/freetube/invidious instances. Disabling downloads or throttling them. youtube-dl is slow as fuck.Many Youtube videos no longer open unless you open them on Youtube. They disable downloads on monetized videos. Check out Freetube and Invidious Instances.freetubeapp.io/docs.invidious.io/instances/I will never have a Google account or use the Youtube site directly. Push every channel you care about to upload their videos to Odysee/LBRY. Thousands have jumped ship already.odysee.com/lbry.com/get

       @adderstone I dont have a youtube account and I use adblock on everything. Youtubedl is fucked because the maintainer abandoned it. Yt-dlp still works well.I dont have a problem with Odysee but it just flat doesn't work half the time

       @RustyCrab Thanks I will check out yt-dlp.Rather use the LBRY desktop client. There is an android app as well. f-droid.org/en/packages/io.lbry.browser/ its far faster than Odysee. Odysee is just a frontend for LBRY. lbry.com/get

       @adderstone @RustyCrab the lbry app is just sandboxed chrome window visiting a different web interface.  and you can't watch livestreams on it.  the only benefit it has is if you don't want to cause issues in your normal browser from odysee.
