@shrikefliesfree @female_solidarity Yeah, I'm confused by Ricky's whole schtick. He says he's not transphobic, as if that word has any meaning outside of "person who simply acknowledges biological reality". There's no phobia in transphobia. He's both a team terf guy, and not. He's happy to let men use whatever pronouns. So he's a bit like Glinner. Happy for the true trans to "live their truth", but weirded out by men with their intact anatomy running around in skirts.

@Kay @shrikefliesfree @female_solidarity so far, of the three comics, I prefer Maher. He started with discussing the word “woman”. just wish he wasn’t an anti-mask truther.

@Kay @female_solidarity Some of the "gender critical" men think that there can be a way to let the "nice men" into women's spaces in a way that will keep the bad men out. It is a thing many men can't understand or don't want to understand -- a lot of guys can seem nice until they DECIDE to not be nice. And then it is too late for us.

@FemaleIsNotAFeeling Doing pretty well! Just got a lot of plates spinning. I'm a first-time mom as of November, and I've been on leave since then, which has meant keeping a baby alive + keeping up halfway with academia since actually being gone for that long would prob end my career. I've kept up with a bit of volunteer work too but that's meant less time for just fun chatting.I'm nearing the end of maternity leave and with that all of the woman-specific demands of having a kid (pregnancy + breastfeeding), so that's exciting to me. I'm excited about parenting in general, but never was interested in the baby stage. Now that I have one of my own my perspective is more positive but I'm still more excited about when the kid gets older. My husband is going to be the primary caregiver for the second half of the baby's first year (his leave kicks in a week from now), so the pressure of being "always on" all the time regarding my baby (as much as I love him) will be over soon.
