       @urusan Some scholars think Machiavelli wrote it as bad advise so that Lorenzo de Medici would fall out of power. Machiavelli wrote The Prince in the aftermath of being exiled from Florence by the Medici. The more common interpretation is that he was trying to win back any favour he could.
