@iankenway Why is it a checklist? Is this a checklist that someone will do in the future, to see if those things happened? Or are these goals of some organization?

@Pat This is a checklist of fundamental goals that governments, agencies and individuals should be working towards currently and in the near future.

@iankenway I get it. It's just some kid of consensus of what those folks on that island want to see in the future, but not a plan on how to do it or anything.Rather than publish a full manifesto, they just put it in a list. Ok.

@iankenwayI get where this list is coming from, but these ideas could be clarified/expanded on.1. The progressive taxation they recommend would need a starting point for the upper bracket(s).2. UBI requires something like rent restrictions to really work.3. A market can only be truly free if monopolism and negative externalities are kept in check.4. "No walled gardens" might not mean the same thing to everyone.5. Sortition is a good idea, as long as it is only used to select assemblies of voters. I would recommend approval voting for all single-seat elections.

Sortition is a good idea, as long as it is only used to select assemblies of voters, not for directly selecting an official. For single-seat elections, I would also recommend that the assemblies use approval voting.

@Parienve Thanks you so much for your thoughtful and useful comments. The Checklist obviously needs further revision as there is currently no reference to education, health and reproductive rights.

There's no informed consent without informed debate. And there's none of that while the government is controlling "muh science"
