I do know that #PlannedParenthood was specifically created to keep the black population from growing tho, and they've strategically placed their resources in predominantly African American communities in order to further that goal. @realcaseyrollins uh, what? Planned Parenthood sets up in black communities because they’re lower income. Unplanned pregnancy (and planned, for that matter) is a massive financial burden. Black women in particular are four times more likely to die due to pregnancy.Planned Parenthood also does a lot more than abortions: STI tests, sex education, low-cost gynecology, etc.

@realcaseyrollins Not everyone wants to have a child, and it can ruin you financially and mentally, especially if your child comes from a rapist, or person you aren’t even together with anymore, or weren’t from the beginning. A fetus is, for the most part of its „life“ in the thomb a being that isn’t feeling and that isn’t thinking or having a mind, since it’s brain isn’t really developed until a certain point. So if that point isn’t crossed, an abortion should be the choice of the mother, and if the mother wants to abort it should be her good right to do that.Everything else would be an enormous interference in the life of the mother, and interfering like that as a government is something no government should be allowed to.

I find genocide to be bad and, while I do like freedom and allowing people to make their own choices, choosing to commit genocide is a choice that I personally don't think citizens should have access to. @realcaseyrollins I'm pro-choice so I already know we disagree there, but your post is the first pro-life take I've seen that isn't just "ban all abortions, sucks if you get pregnant 🤷♂️" but it actually addresses the aftermath, and why a lot of people are concerned. I really do like that.My main concern is that there isn't enough of a safety net for the people who really need it. Unfortunately, the next point of contention tends to be who should be responsible for providing that safety net.

@tacoface true. Churches are a good place to start because (AFAIK) their funding tends to be stable, but that also means it's not as scalable for a dramatic uptick in needs. There are also organizations like #CrisisPregnancyCenters, which are btw grossly underutilized, but still I worry they may not be elastic enough.Either angel investors could endlessly dump money into such organizations, or the federal government could create some of their own.

@realcaseyrollins But post-birth costs are substantial also. Childcare alone - I pay the same for my child's preschool as I do for my mortgage. And it's not Montessori or anything, it's a standard preschool. I'm glad I'm able to pay. My state has a program to assist with the cost of childcare for people who need it, but my state also doesn't have a trigger law. The states with trigger laws seem like the type of places who would have very limited gov safety nets.

@realcaseyrollins I love my kid to death. I wouldn't trade him for the world and I'm grateful that I'm able to provide for him. Everybody I know with kids feels the same way. But desperate people who don't have the same financial stability are looking at a lifetime of struggle. Nobody gets abortions for fun.That's where an expanded safety net (whether that's government, church, etc.) and education about this safety net would be extremely helpful. There's more to pro-life than just birth.
