I get it that I've committed the untold sin of using craigslist to advertise I'm looking for a place to rent, with a basic, non-provocative photo of myself. I guess I deserve this, because who could blame the penis bearers for developing a rapid raging boner at the very thought of a woman with few options?

@0cean No you don't deserve this none of this is your fault. Its not easy finding a place to rent especially if you have do not have support from people. Don't blame yourself What are you renting for exactly? Maybe some Candian Spinsters can point to you and provide some resources to help :)

@MellowMarigold I'm mostly being sarcastic in the self-blame. I'm half-heartedly looking for a studio suite or one-bedroom, but honestly, I've 90% made up my mind to just move in with my partner. I wasn't feeling ready for that, but the rental market in BC is out of control. It's $1600+ for a one bedroom, and my entire income is around $1400. On top of that, rentals have a gigantic lineup of people trying to get their hands on them.

@0cean Be careful when moving in with a partner because god forbid if the relationship breakdowns then you will find yourself without a home and back to square one. Just make sure you have in place a list of resources and platforms to advertise looking for a place to rent if in a event things don't work out with your partner. I always prepare for the worst that is the kind of person I am.

@MellowMarigold I've already panicked completely about that scenario, but it looks like I'll be without a home regardless and back to square one if I don't move in with him. I've lived in my car before so I guess if I have to leave I have camping stuff, and there are a few different places I could take off to, I guess. But ultimately I need the time to gain experience in my field of work, so I'm not in this helpless situation long term.

@MellowMarigold My family lives fairly close but I come from a family that is essentially dirt-poor. My mom lives in mold-ridden conditions and will be in the small trailer she's living in until she passes away probably. My sister lives in an RV in a Uhaul lot. My dad is an abusive criminal. We're a family with nothing.

@0cean Virtual hug 🫂 🤗 Is your relationship with your sister good? I am a big sister and I wouldn’t want my little sister struggling. I am always looking out for my little sister.
