If you're saying we should ditch #Firefox due to #Mozilla's decisions, this is the world #map you're advocating for. #browserđź”— https://nitter.net/theworldmaps_/status/1518150533038620672

@datenschutzratgeber I don't like many of Mozilla's decisions but I don't see why people ditch browsers based on Firefox over it. Lots of good browsers based on it. Abrowser; Libre Wolf; Tor; Fennec. It's like ditching a Linux distro for Windows because not liking what the Linux Foundation says or does.

@datenschutzratgeber Ah yes, blaming people instead of taking your own responsibilities.

@datenschutzratgeber Yeah. This is my problem with such talk. Chrome is worse. However, there are some alternative community builds of Firefox that might be a better option if the upstream Mozilla builds get too annoying. The downside, of course, is that many of them won't keep up with the latest and greatest Internet de facto standards. Also, I'm curious how Chromium compares on these issues. I've basically stopped using it anyway, but is it a viable alternative to Chrome?

@TerryHancockChromium is chrome minus some components = still chrome. Avoid it, if you can afford it. Chromium is and will stay an entry drug to a Google account. If Google ever decide to stop offering it as FOSS, it will be dead within weeks and most users will change to the full fledged chrome.@datenschutzratgeber

@datenschutzratgeber I say "builds" but some are more properly "forks". There's one I read about called "AlbusLuna", which apparently derives from "PaleMoon" and both from the XUL implementation. So far, I'm just sticking with Firefox.

@datenschutzratgeber Hi, I've read all comments so far! For me, I try to avoid #Chrome, #Edge, #Brave, #Opera and so on. I like #librewolf with some nice settings. But which #browser do you really recommend regarding #privacy? Okay, the simplest solution: Don't use the #internet :mastorofl:

@krmh I'd recommend Firefox or LibreWolf. Though, LibreWolf have made a few questionable decisions, like disabling the already privacy-friendly safe browsing feature for privacy reasons, and Firefox needs to be configured in a privacy-friendly way first. Still, both browsers are good options in my opinion.
