GC evangelism question:We know that for a lot of content creators in the women's health space, their erasure of the words "woman" and "female" stems from passionate commenters continuing to niggle them about "inclusive language."To some extent, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so we can't complain too much if the creators are only getting one message, and that message is always "stop talking about women."Today my favorite women's health writer got these (pressuring, but with cutesy emojis) comments on her article:"I do want to remind y’all that not everyone who has a vagina or gives birth identifies as female/a woman/a mother ❤️❤️❤️.Just always want to remind as we try to move towards more inclusive language 🥰 "So I also decided to respond with this comment:"But it's also useful to have a word that includes all of the half of the population who can potentially experience these issues regardless of their identity. And a word that doesn't just refer to them using their body part as the identifier ('people with vaginas').So sometimes woman and female don't have to refer to identity--they can just describe human biology. I'm glad to see them used at least sometimes as a compromise. Also avoids such confusions as "72 percent of sexually active people of childbearing age off birth control will get pregnant within a year," which can't be true since 50 percent of people unambiguously can't get pregnant due to their anatomy."I've been in GC spaces for a long time, and I know there's no way not to trigger true-believing TRAs, but getting through to normal people is what I'm about. I truly believe "woman" and "female" should always refer to our biology, not our identities, but I'm also about meeting liberal women where they're at, and where they're currently at is wondering whether it's ever ok to use "woman" and "female" in this "exclusionary" sense.I'm hoping this was a rather non-combative but cogent support of keeping "woman" and "female" in the vocabulary for this writer (she's been slowly reducing their usage over time), but would love feedback on how to push back positively and effectively.

@female_solidarity I think I understand, but thing is with trans - they're always gunna say "sex is not gender" and ..."I don't identify with my sex, so that brings me harm and is literal violence to refer to me as a woman or female etc.."It's why the TIMs coined the term "girldick" and the TIFs coined the term "T dick" for their clits. The TIMs try to redefine their male biology as female "Girl dick" and the TIFs try to redefine their female biology as male "T dick"...and then they say biology is a social construct. So they've really made a damned mess of it all. The redefining of words and demonization of biology makes me feel like nothing will ever satisfy the trans when it comes to trying to refer to actual biology, they hate biology...it's the absolute bane of their existence.P.s. hope I wasn't way off topic and that I understood what you were saying.

@FemaleIsNotAFeeling Totally agree. I guess I'm hoping I can get normie lefty women to listen without turning them off. The type that typically fall for the "inclusive" language-shaming.

@female_solidarity For sure...and don't give up on it, keep thinking and brainstorming on it. It is a hard thing to think about though...like me personally, it kinda makes my head spin after a while. Because of so many words that mean so many different things to so many different people. I think you were on the right path as a door opener with the whole separation of biology and identity as a way to start a conversation with leftist women...you may get some trans pushback in the way that I mentioned before, but not as much as if you just blew through the wall like the Koolaid man and went full TERF. They will see you are trying to respect trans people while at the same time trying to respect biology too and talking about health and bodies apart from gender. So don't give up, keep thinking of ways to open a conversation with lefty women...I think as long as you are polite and try your best to show you mean no harm, they will most likely listen. And always take it easy and take it slow as you go. Their ears are trained to perk up if they hear certain trigger words and then shut you out. You kind of have to play to their interests a bit and earn trust.

@female_solidarity @FemaleIsNotAFeeling using obscuring and confusing language isn't inclusive of the most vulnerable women, like women who have english as a second language or brain injury. Changing our language for people who understand what we mean but don't like it, into something confusing to the most vulnerable women is ableist and excluding
