@Gina The other day I was on a lunchtime walk with my boss + his young dachshund, and we got into a conversation with a random lady about pets. Both my boss and the lady are 60+, I'm 42. From what she said it was clear she assumed that my boss and I were a gay couple :) So yeah, totally NORMAL these days 😆

@Gina hahaha, our society has lots of issues, one of those is this crazy idea that you need to get married in order to achieve happiness/success in life. Following this way of thinking you will be in this constant search for love, always with the pressure of society. Then when you get married it is more likely that both end unhappy and divorced.Just live your own life and enjoy it, I think you have a very good life. 😋

@r_libre I'm always so surprised that, knowing the history behind marriage, women still want to get married. I think marriage will be one of those constructs that future generations will mock us for.

@Gina Good response from your mother if maybe a touch awkward. I find parents can be really good at making things awkward. One time when I had been dating long distance for a couple months, my Mom bought me a stroller for my birthday. I was 29 or 30 at the time and I guess she was getting impatient.

@Gina I don't even wanna know what crosses my parents' minds when they think about me, but probably they know I'm just mentally challenged. Though long time ago I had few friends ask me if I'm gay because I was constantly alone. But I never understood how that was meant to explain it. @Gina maybe this idea of happiness through marriage is very deep in their minds and also they have hope that all this will be different, it would be different in a healthier society.Yes, marriage, individualism, consumerism, speciesism, etc. Our age will be the age of ignorance. :(
