anyone have any good #SSTV stories or a gentle introduction to th mode? I have the "Robot36" Android app which is a decoder, and I see a bot at @aregsstv posting decodes from 14.230 MHz and 7.171 MHz. I also know the ISS sends out SSTV sometimes.thanks for any hints73 de Ed W8EMV

I've just received two SSTV images from the international space station on 145.800MHz using a 2m handheld (Anytone 878) and an outside flowerpot antenna (an endfed 2m/70cm vertical). This isn't the the best antenna but it works. Good quality images using the PD-120 mode (that I'd never heard of) with a USB desk mike in front of the Anytone. They're transmitting for a few more hours - details on https://amsat-uk.org/2022/04/04/iss-sstv-april-7-8-145-800-mhz-fm/ - expecting to finish about 16.10 GMT on April 8.QSSTV can be set to auto-save images if they (for example) 30% complete, so you can just set it on 14.230MHz and walk away. There is enough activity to make it interesting.I hadn't realised how short the ISS passes are - about 10 minutes. Never heard the ISS before - quite a buzz!#hamradio #sstv
