Yesterday I had my first day physically back in the office in over two years. It was exhausting and I got almost nothing done. I'd forgotten just how distracting it was having that many people around you at all times. I'm guessing I wasn't the only one since it seemed like there was an abnormal number of collisions where people just weren't paying attention and they walked right into other people.

@mike interesting .. I liked working in the office however I found a job 7 years ago which was fully remote and remained the same way. Your experiences would probably be a great source for some kind of social studies :-). I can clearly picture all those people pretending that they're working :-).

@mike I go in only on Friday's when there are less co-workers in. I still get nothing done. People want to talk or go out for walks. I realized that I get a lot of work done at home, so after this, I'm going to not feel bad slacking off at home haha.

@mike I've been fully remote going on 10 years now. I feel for anyone going from remote back into the office. I'd do poorly for sure. Good luck!

@dusnm I support that idea 100%, unless someone else is willing to let me do a 2 hour work day. Then I support that one more.

@mike it's interesting to have these conversations because I started a new job and HAVE to be in the office. I get nothing done at home. my former career it was literally part of my job description to socialize with coworkers, so I suppose some of my current coworkers might find that annoying? Regardless, we will all figure it out. Growing pains either way for everyone
