Would someone have info on why a company/individual would register themselves as a registrar under multiple domain/company names? Even if it's just: DomainRegistrarX01DomainRegistrarX02DomainRegistrarX03DomainRegistrarX04And they're all registered in the same country

Follow up question, is it possible for a DNS server to respond with a different A record depending on the IP/domain of the requesting client/recursive DNS resolver?

I know it's possible with Windows Server DNS: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/dns/deploy/primary-geo-locationAsking about BIND I guess

@bjb Hmm, I wonder if that can be combined with dynamic DNS to ensure that only computers that I own can successfully retrieve a record for a domain 🤔

@brandon Bind also does dynamic DNS (updates), and this can be secured with a "secret" so that only authorized clients can send updates.I don't think I have that currently set up though.

@bjb The dynamic updates would be so that if I specify XYZ address that corresponds to my personal computer, the match-clients statement sees request coming from the same address
