@Chronic-Yonic @Ladyfat Well I really don't get it. I mean if there was even a vague pattern to point to. But he's in the public eye advocating for women's rights, and not with a watered down perspective, regularly, week afrer week, and has been for several years now. Most people either collude, cower, or fight back anonymously. That doesn't excuse the tweet but his immediate apology and the fact that the comment isn't a pattern with him, as far as I know, makes it a non-issue imo. Unless winning this battle is about squashing the one time mistakes that allies make.

@Chronic-Yonic @Ladyfat I don't think he's *for* AGPs per se at all. He's totally critical of men - and in an unusually articulate way that I find useful - who are abusively using trans politics, and he often refers to the AGP motives behind their behavior. I haven't heard any off comments by him about pedos, I would certainly like to know what if that's the case. Whether he's in the "true trans" camp or not, I think the movement needs to realize there is a learning process, not just a peaking. There's also a need for tolerance of diversity of thought. Withiut that, there's not going to be an effective movement. And I don't mean tolerance as in "all opinions are fine." I mean, diversity of thought is an opportunity for making your case for your beliefs. Are we suppose to think Kathleen Stock is a threat to women's sex based rights because she's more in the true trans camp? If so we might as well pack up our battle gear and enjoy the last remants of sex based rights while they last because if we apply a purity test to everyone, in lieu of making persuasive arguments to them and others who aren't sure where they stand, we don't stand a chamce of winning.

@FSI Some of us have been in this for along time and these newbies who you say have to not just peak but learn.Never seem to demonstrate that some of us learned things they are only just coming round to understanding 20- 30 years ago. What we don't do is make YouTube videos self promoting our new understanding as if it's ground breaking.A lot of the BS we have to put up with from newbie wanna be figure heads who are trying to run before they can walk. He did say he had sympathy for AGPs, while APGs are the ones that make lesbians social lives impossible: you can't use dating apps, you can't go to dances, you can attend events unless you're willing to fend off AGPs. I doubt very much that Morty has ever had that type of experience and, him being a man, he probably can't even imagine what it is and we are just exaggerating. Some people that are on Twitter have raised concerns about his pedo comments and since I was banned from there in 2018, I haven't been there to verify but that info is from women I trust.I used to hang around with gay men and I never saw one who wasn't a closet misogynist. I've talked privately with other people behind other LGB Alliance chapters and they don't understand either what Morty is doing there. Word gets out you know. He lacks professionalism, is not a unifying figure (a lesbian - we had exchanged messages on numerous occasions - who was behind the LGB Alliance Canada on a social media platform left and I just find it highly suspicious that she did so after his radfems are bloodthristy or whatever he said verbatim. Ever since she has left, the account has been dormant) and now a lot of us lesbians don't trust him.I'm not telling you who/what to accept, but this just hits me as another flavour of *not my Nigel*. Allies have to prove themselves worthy, it's a question of quality, not of quantity. I'm not dying to find allies to continue to fight for lesbians and women's rights and I've stopped being nice a couple of years ago. Purity testing is being accused of siding with alt-right groups when posting sources that belong to right wing media (when left wing media are so totally biased you can't even say the word *woman*), I've been accused of posting the *wrong* source, but if thinking that Morty is not in his place as director of LGB Alliance makes me a purity test user. well I couldn't care less. Like I said, he's not a director in a school book club, he is supposed to be a unifying force but of course, men will always side with other men, so I'm not the least bit surprised.Men have to prove themselves not de facto be allies for me. After all, men are the ones that put us in this crap situation (and many others) and since I don't share my romantic life with them, I've got an advantage of not trying to find loopholes in accepting them.So I can apply as much as I want the purity test as you say and you can apply the least you want, you do you, as they say, and I'll do me. You can think however highly of Morty as you want and I won't thought police you. Just don't impose him on me or other lesbians. I'm done here.

I'm pretty sure of one thing, I would be greatly surprised if I was the only one having been very disappointed in his behavior and beliefs, and feeling the happiness of having our very own chapter gone arctic cold at this betrayal. And if only by the looks of the now dead Instagram account I'm pretty sure there aren't too many people, least of all women, willing to volunteer to lend a hand. I do regret I never asked Simone's contact info (she was a very cool lesbian and on top of all the news and events, very pro feminist too) but then again I never would have expected her leaving, she seemed to thoroughly enjoy her volunteer work. His latest outburst was no surprise, as well as his half hearted non-apology for revealing his true feelings. I came into feminism questioning why women would say "there are no male allies," but the longer I'm here, the more I understand it and find myself repeating it too. I have never met a man that didn't disappoint me when it came to the rights, safety, and dignity of women.

In the end, he and Glinner just blamed radical feminists because their feelings got hurt.The Mess had an all women's panel yesterday or day before. Since the men weren't there, maybe I'll give a watch. I honestly miss listening to Helen Staniland.
