       As a #mastoadmin of the #fediverse instance social.diva.exchange I am trying to figure out some better procedures:* How do you fight spam accounts on an open instance (IMO "by invitation" is kind of against the spirit of the fedi)? * gmail.com, yahoo.com and some other domains are blocked, what's your view on this? * are there any useful bots for mastoadmins?* other tips? #bloggers - links are welcome, as long as it is mastoadmin related 🤣#askfedi #askfediverse

       @konrad 'by invitation' is not against the spirit of fediimo activityPub and fediverse have taken off precisely because mastodon enables people to communicate across close-knit and moderated communities which can decide and enforce their own rules what/who is welcome on their instance - and that includes open generalist as well as closed 'by invitation' focused small groups and instances.

       @konrad Here we manually approve accounts. I setup an alert for the notification emails of the approval requests on my smartphone, so that I'm quick to approve.
