#FunADay 11: Today's fun project was making a wrist mounted pin cushion as a gift. It sure is a lot less painful than sticking the pins directly into the back of the wrist. 😝I'm curious as to how many Mastodonians know how to sew. Even just mending or hand sewing counts. If it's effective, you get credit in my book. Doesn't have to look pretty. I'd make this a poll, but that's apparently not allowed if a picture is attached 🙄, so reply here and keep the 🧵 going.

@adam I used to mend my clothes. Didn't think to do it during family times. Usually need something to do. The Cangaceiros sowed their ornate clothes.

@adam my skills are low but I learned to sew (with dental floss? becuz punk?!) very early in my life as an anarchist and broke-ass quasi-adult

@adam I don't know his to use a sewing machine but I can hand sew! Usually repairs and a few full clothing items

@adam I mend and alter my clothes by hand since I was a young teen. Never used a sewing machine though!

@duende I totally cheated with this one. It's a store bought pin cushion and I just cut a piece of scrap plastic to size & shape and stitched an elastic band on there.It was sliding around more than I liked, so I cut some slits in the plastic to hold the strings in place. Here's a shot of the underside of the finished product.❤️

@adam im very into machine and hand sewing to make clothing repairs. Very rarely make anything from scratch aside from banners.
