So I have spent the last three days copying all of the media files on this instance over to Amazon S3 storage. But I wasn't able to get things working properly. And even more concerning is that I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that the site had been a bit buggy. People have mentioned that cannot access certain pages like their preferences. I had noticed this with my account as well, not being able to access some admin pages.

I no longer could get some of mastodon's systemd services to start. Ultimately, I thought the best thing was to restore from a backup. I tried a backup that was 4 days old but it had the same problems. So I had to go back 11 days. So all data from the last 11 days is lost. Ultimately, I spent most of the last 3 days fighting with this thing, and I'm done. If someone wants to take over this instance, they can have it, and the domain name.

I just can't spend my "free" time working on this thing. I'll keep this server up for a week or so, then after that, I'm shutting it down. So backup your account information if you want to move your account to a new instance.

@derek Wow, sorry to hear that. I was so excited to find you here, I made an account, have no Idea how this works yet. I have no clue how to back up an account or make my own/run it. Really hoping you keep this up for longer time. But at least give me more time to learn how to use and back up, Please.
