So we have had two people agree to be mods. Hopefully, that helps. We have four other mods as well, with one of them (Josh) being rather active. And I get notified everytime someone is reported so I can take care of most problems when not sleeping.If any other active users want mod privileges, I'll add a couple more. Again, there's really no work involved. Every couple of weeks, a troll may show up. Just nuke his account.

@10leej Oh, it "shouldn't" go down. Just warning people in case. I'm in the middle of moving all the media files and avatars over to S3, which should drastically free up disk space on the server. But that transfer is going to take a few hours. Maybe longer.

@10leej They probably have their own cloud storage, but I already use s3 and I'd rather store my stuff there. Would also make transferring to another webhost alot less painful if/when needed.

So I have spent the last three days copying all of the media files on this instance over to Amazon S3 storage. But I wasn't able to get things working properly. And even more concerning is that I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that the site had been a bit buggy. People have mentioned that cannot access certain pages like their preferences. I had noticed this with my account as well, not being able to access some admin pages.

I no longer could get some of mastodon's systemd services to start. Ultimately, I thought the best thing was to restore from a backup. I tried a backup that was 4 days old but it had the same problems. So I had to go back 11 days. So all data from the last 11 days is lost. Ultimately, I spent most of the last 3 days fighting with this thing, and I'm done. If someone wants to take over this instance, they can have it, and the domain name.

I just can't spend my "free" time working on this thing. I'll keep this server up for a week or so, then after that, I'm shutting it down. So backup your account information if you want to move your account to a new instance.
