I'm sorry you don't see this as a great opportunity for freedom. If Trudeau steps down, all the crazy laws designed and paid for by the TRA billionaires will also have to be dropped - most notably Bill C-16, the "anti-conversion" bill and the internet hate bill. They really deserve it, but unfortunately the rest of us have to pay for the stupidity too. As I’ve always said, I only blame the masses for every atrocity in the world. And @Layla, how can anyone be “fighting for the freedom of women” when the same people fight to keep the male system empowered? These women aren’t fighting for anything! @UnHerdOf I'm really trying to temper my anger and be understanding! LOL But I can't understand them. I was not impressed when a masked woman shouted 'fuck you' in my face! I quickly turned to the first person who noticed and it was a Sri Lankan Canadian teacher who had a tale of horror as to what's been done to kids and teachers. Her ancestors also escaped tyranny to come here. I've seen quite a bit of footage, the longer parts from that guy Ottawalks. He shows the feeble counter-protesters not far from the Hill in the first part of this video. https://youtu.be/3wwmkb-ZP_cThey are shouting "my city". And they call US selfish because we won't get jabbed or wear masks. The irony is off the charts! I simply have no idea what they think they are doing. Why are they against freedom for everyone? @Spring @UnHerdOf @Mariposa Well, they're calling it mass formation but that's sort of the same thing. Was funny today - all love and smiles from the freedom lovers - then a woman in a mask got right in my face and said 'fuck off'. Rather stunning that people are protesting AGAINST freedom. (My sign said 'true north strong and free [line from O Canada]' and 'radiate love' on the other!)There were a few counter protesters across the street and ONE heavily tattooed fat guy in a dress saying "go back to Langley" which is where the majority of Lower Mainland truckers were arriving from. LOL. Most of the protesters were from the West End which is basically downtown. I had to take a bus there. Another funny thing was when cyclists (healthnuts?) in N95s tried to stop the truckers from entering the downtown area - just a few blocks from where I live in East Vancouver. One even lay down in front of a semi! On the side of freedom, we are wondering who these fascist, anti-freedomites really are.

Well here in the UK I am not relaxing my guard about this alarming global authoritarian bent but most restrictions have been dropped. Our NHS workers stood firm together and will not be sacked, the government backed down this week.The workers in our social care sector who were fired several months ago for being unvaccinated (they are for the most part very low paid and female) are also being allowed to go back to work in the sector. Different disease and mechanism but this period is reminding me of the AIDS scare in the 80s and how dreadfully people were acting towards people with HIV. Luckily compassion and sense eventually prevailed over fear.

Not just making noise, but noise in a decibel range that damages hearing, for 12 hours/day or more. That is a form of torture. I'd have gone mad by now. And those filing the lawsuit offered to drop it if they would stop with the air and train horns. They're not asking them to stop the protest.My view is that anybody has a right to protest, but I have two problems with the trucker convoy.1) Misdirected attacks on their fellow citizens. I think this quote sums it up beautifully: "What separates the convoy’s grievance from understandable and reasonable outrage at the pandemic is the way that anger is directed outward, in all directions. It is not a focused beam of outrage at the powers that be; instead it is an unattended firehose, left to spray its rage in all directions."2) Right wing nationalist leaders and opportunists in the convoy. There are many people taking part who have genuine grievances, but less savory characters are getting involved...

Ever! If I have an issue with a group of freedom fighters, I’ll take it up with them. I’m not going to sue or call the police on a group of feminists because their protests is making me uncomfortable. If I do this, I’m on the fucking wrong side.

@UnHerdOf @LaylaAlexandrovna Again, it's not about discomfort. It's about actual harm. You would allow yourself and your children to be physically and mentally harmed so that someone could protest? I mean, I wouldn't cross a picket line, even if I really wanted to purchase a particular thing. That is "uncomfortable" or "inconvenient." Those very loud horns blowing incessantly is a whole other thing.
