@nate_river I mean I think it's crossing a line in my opinion but I jack off to corpses in crime scene photos so I am also crossing a line and throwing a stone from a glass house

@nate_river @hungerarcana I personally think it’s crossing a line. Unless you know the person is fine with it, it’s morally an issue to use their personal photos for your “pleasure”. It’s about personal boundaries and the fact I’m sure most children would be very uncomfortable if revealed to them an adult is jacking it off to them. Not even going to lie, that’s disgusting behaviour and that fact you’re trying to justify it is pathetic.

@nate_river @Ripley @hungerarcana would be less of a problem if you didn't talk about it in public, where people who have reasons to view it personally can see it.

@mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana @nate_river We’re talking about children here. First off, their photos were probably shared by their parents, and secondly that’s absolutely disgusting, and just shows how little respect you have for people’s privacy or boundaries. It doesn’t matter if someone never hears about it, but you’ve violated the boundaries of a child, who probably was ambivalent at best to their photos being shared, because you wanted to jack off? You can’t do shit like that and then discuss protecting the interests of children, because you’ve demonstrated that on the most base level, you’re unwilling to respect their privacy or boundaries. Especially since Nate literally admitted that wasn’t what the pictures were there for to begin with.

@nate_river @mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana “the images are in public” okay and? Did the child themselves post the image and then tell you to use it as a pornography tool? The act itself would be shitty no matter what (think of the amount of women who have said they were uncomfortable finding out people used their personal photos as pornography), but the fact it’s a child who probably didn’t even post the pictures themselves is ridiculous. I honestly cannot believe you’re trying to defend it.

@mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana @nate_river It becomes their fault when they start using it as pornography. Like I said, if you wouldn’t look the kid in the eyes and explain that, then it’s a shit thing to do

@nate_river @Ripley @mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana look, if you just do it in private and don't drag it out to public, where people you admitted to have feelings for in the past are, nobody can stop you. But you brought it up yourself and you asked everyone's opinion. Of course people are gonna feel something about it. Some are gonna look at this post and question, "what have you done with my photos?"And I'm sorry, but this is just how it is. Nobody is hurt by privately masturbating to photos. Making it everyone's knowledge in a public place is inflammatory.

@mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana @nate_river If you cannot understand why using someone’s personal photographs that they didn’t upload online themselves to masturbate to is an inherent crossing of boundaries and consent no matter the situation, that’s on you

@nate_river @mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana Congratulations on blaming parents for wanting to post an innocent photo of their children online without someone masturbating over it

@Ripley @nate_river @mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana parents shouldn't be posting photos of their children at all, if the children themselves are unfamiliar with the internet.

@Ripley @mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana @nate_river Hm, yes, but you haven't answered the question. If you see a situation that upsets you, but you cannot clearly articulate the harmful outcome, then it is likely that your own sense of safety/control feels violated. Try saying "I believe this use of pictures is disrespectful and wrong, but I know that I do not have the right to control other people's harmless actions."

@locusinbloom @hungerarcana @nate_river @mushroomfemboy No, don’t imply it’s my issue. It’s harmful because it sets a precedent for violating people’s boundaries, it’s harmful because you can’t claim to be anti contact and then masturbate over images of day to day children, it’s harmful because you’ve physically or virtually taken those pictures and put them into your possession, thus invading the privacy of a minor who probably didn’t even consent to having them on a public platform. I never said I could control his actions, he asked for peoples opinions and I’ve stated it, but in defending his position he’s just proved he doesn’t actually care about the feeling of children so??

@Ripley @hungerarcana @nate_river @mushroomfemboy I'm not attacking you. I am prodding you to examine your beliefs and find the root of what you think is true. From what you've written, I take it that you believe using photos in this way a) violates boundaries, b) is contact, c) invades privacy. The foundation of consent is that I must have your informed permission before I do anything which materially impacts or potentially harms you.To better understand your own feelings, I think you should try to articulate what the harm is from using the photos. What difference does it make to the victim? What have they lost or stand to lose from the use (which they have not already lost merely by the photos being shared)? My position is that they have already (potentially) suffered psychological harm from having their photos shared without their consent; further use of the photos (private, without sharing, without contact or informing the victim) does not further harm them. You do not have to share my position, but you should (for your own growth as a person) be able to clearly articulate your own.

@locusinbloom @hungerarcana @nate_river @mushroomfemboy “My own growth as a person” masturbating to pictures of children without their consent is harmful because it sets a precedent for boundary breaking behaviour, and even if the child never finds out, you should have enough respect for a group you’re supposedly protecting and supporting to not take advantage of them in any way, including by co-opting materials posted in a specific context for your own sexual pleasure

@comrade_lecter @Ripley @nate_river @mushroomfemboy @hungerarcana not a big fan of parents making social media accounts for their kids either. I have a discord server with a few close friends in it and that’s all. I still have pictures of myself up easily found on google using my moms name. Thankfully she never said my name but I mean she would take pictures of me after destroying my room and me crying and posted them on Facebook. Punishment pictures….
