@icedquinn for someone who doesn't enjoy it, you sure post a loti think with a little additional effort and compromise, there could be admin options to control the display of tags and everyone could be happy. landolan ran off and forked cause he was dilating over alex being a TERF previously

@meowski i think the old pleromans are butt hurt that its supposed to be a community of devs or w/e and alex has basically hostile forked in-place by just doing shit and not talking to people.i.e. they are mad about social fabric and people are retarded and arguing about the patch itself and not the manner the patch was landed which is the thing they are actually mad at.but its fine because now everyone is just fanboying behind their favorite dev and nobody is ever going to care about what the problem actually was :blobcatsmilehappy:

@meowski @icedquinn the issue is they tried that and lain basically backed him up, so they just left, mind you this has been an ongoing issue for more than 8 months, the replies is just what has become apparent (thus the uproar). Alex won't back off he has said it himself so the reasonable choice is to fork it and make an alternative for instances that don't want to use copebox.

@meowski @icedquinn thing is, there is no reasonable way to keep working with alex even if they wanted to, because he will just merge whatever he wants like he has been doing repeatedly. The process would be something like:1. alex does a controversial change that makes pleroma even more like twitter2. someone needs to patch that for it to not break the broader pleroma (like what happened with the replies)3. repeatAt that point it is Alex's project, and everyone else is just basically forced to comply to whatever braindead change he wants to put, I don't think anyone wants to reasonably work like that FOR FREE. So yeah, since pleroma stopped being a community effort they droped it, and made their own fork.
