@lain @inference and risky. Sometimes you absolutely need to use normie apps and for that reason you need MicroG, such as in CalyxOS. GrapheneOS has some workarounds but you can't fully trust them, and if you need help, their lead Dev is sociopathic and will ban you for no reason.

@wind @lain This is purely opinion.MicroG has severe security flaws and CalyxOS does nothing to improve privacy or security. It's simply a rebranded AOSP.I'm a cybersecurity researcher who has a high threat model and depends on GrapheneOS. No other project comes within 10% of GrapheneOS.

@inference @lain Being a cybersecurity researcher means you have the luxury of not needing to use normie apps the rest of us require for our jobs, like MS Teams. Yes, GrapheneOS is more secure overall. A flip phone in your car with the battery disconnected is even more secure. I don't trust GrapheneOS to work when it needs to and I don't trust the community for help when I need it. Yes, that is an opinion, as if your career somehow turns opinions into facts lol

@nosleep @lain daily driving one for the past month and can confirm it's pretty good. there is even autism security os with sandboxed play services that works surprisingly well even with banking apps https://grapheneos.org/ , if you are into that.
