Does anyone know a good android app for killing another app on a schedule? My partner and I are currently doing the long-distance thing, and like to leave the google meet on when we go to sleep; BUT google meet prevents my alarm from going in the morning, so I would like to kill the meet at like, 5am so my alarm can still go

@rgegriff@mastodon.lol I've previously used Tasker for a similar situation, I would listen to music while sleeping and my alarm would only sound through my Bluetooth headphones, which would inevitably be off of my head by the time I woke up.I had a routine set which would automatically kill my music app, then disconnect my headphones 20 minutes prior to my alarm (giving my headphones enough time to turn off from lack of connection so that noise cancellation would be turned off in case they managed to stay on my head). The only guarantee that it will work reliably at killing another app is if your device is rooted, though the app does provide some workarounds such as hijacking wireless adb to gain similar permissions. The app does cost $3.49USD on the Play Store, but for all of the functionality it can possibly offer, I would consider it well worth it.

@kitty Hmm, I DID buy Tasker already, but, tbh, I have never been able to program it to do anything reliably. That's probably on me more than the app.I'll reinstall it and see if I can't get it working.

@rgegriff@mastodon.lol If you're still having problems with it later, I may be able to throw something together and export it to you, or provide further support as need be.
