@urusan How we defining a microwave peaking? Peak of microwave technology? Peak of microwave sales? Some other arbitrary measurement?

@gaurdianaq Peak user experience.Some appliances have recent "improvements" that make them worse. For instance, many models of oven removed oven self cleaning features so they could reduce the oven insulation to cut costs.

@urusan don't self cleaning options basically just burn off everything, which I'd assume creates fumes, unless that has to do with the insulation you were referring to

@gaurdianaq Yes, that is how the traditional oven self cleaning feature worked.Normal cooking makes fumes too, so it's not a special issue for self cleaning. You need good ventilation for any oven.The extra insulation is because the oven has to reach a higher temperature than any normal cooking. You need it to avoid having an oven that's hot to the touch and can start fires.Also, they often did replace it with a method where you put a bunch of water in the oven and steam clean the inside.
