@stux in march 2020, i remembered spring being beautifully, hauntingly quiet and the gas prices were at lows unseen in a decadein march 2021, i do not even remember there being a spring because of all the investor activity and money-related noise, and the gas prices were at highs unseen in a decade

@stux 2020 for me was pretty dominated by the fear of having cancer. i guess that means i'm not quite neutral on it, but honestly i don't remember that many bad things happening 2021.

@stux@mstdn.social 2021 is the clear winner for me, mostly due to the ongoing pandemic. the growing insecurity, political and social tension, disinformation campaigns, increasingly byzantine rules, separation from loved ones, the sinking feeling that it’s not going to be over anytime soon…it definitely sucked way harder than 2020’s optimism. in 2020, we were fighting a virus. in 2021 and now 2022, we are fighting the dark sides of our own society.

@stux 2020 was worse, mainly because we got more used to the crap in 2021, also we got vaccines, and a glimmer of hope. 2020 just felt like we were all trapped.Of course, this also very much depends on where you live of course.The thing that WAS worse in 2021, was the anti-vaxxers/anti-maskers getting more aggressive and in-your-face.

@stux I think I'll go with 2020 because it was the year when the world changed overwhelmingly fast when COVID-19 came. 2021 was the year when we adapted to the changes, plus there are vaccines which gave us hope. Eh, 2020 was maybe worse, but both 2020 and 2021 are still horrible.
