@koyuchan Sadly selfhosting a video service is much harder than other fediverse software, which mostly involve blogging (and picture sharing in case of PixelFed). A few managed to oull it off but I can also see why PeerTube isn't the first solution that comes to mind for mang people.

@CKsTechnologyNews @koyuchan One additional thing I would like to say.YouTube is rife with consumerism. People pushing surveillance smart devices, vitamins, cars, gatcha mobile games.I don’t care about any of that. I was staying on yt for some Linux tutorials.Honestly my mental health is better without yt.

@NeonPurpleStar YouTube is unusable without stuff like NewPipe and pipe-viewer, combined with sponsor block. Sadly most of YouTube community doesn't have a problem with the current state of the site.

@person I mean, new pipe is good cause you can subscribe without an account, and just avoid all the nuisances.Personally I prefer visiting diode.zone for tech stuff which was my only YouTube interest anyway.

@koyuchan Yes but like other open torrent trackers, most people don't seed. And seeding only solves the bandwith problem, there is still storage to worry about.
