Note that I haven't done aaaaany testing though. The game server is running in a container and the physical host is in Finland so that might affect latency and responsiveness and stuff. I also don't know how many players it can handle; I literally finished setting it up <10 minutes ago :flan_laugh:

@Johann150 Last time I tried it, Minetest honestly felt like a bad Minecraft clone and I never really had fun playing. Meanwhile, Veloren is *blazing* fast and incredibly lightweight on both server and client, really attractive, and seems to be a bit more focused on the MMORPG element rather than world building.I've just enjoyed Veloren much more than Minetest. If I want Minecraft, I'll play Minecraft :flan_shrug:

@stefan it's an open-world RPG with voxel graphics written in rust by people who found other games annoying and wanted to make something good :flan_thumbs: The more I play it, the more impressed I am with it from a technical perspective. The content will come later :comfy:

@stefan that graphics style is just called "voxel" and a lot of games use it. the similarities with Minecraft pretty much end there though :P

@amolith Oh cool. I saw @milan running his own server too. It would be amazing if servers would federate so you could have a something like teleport to other worlds (servers)
