@Moon@shitposter.club yeah, if you're going for the "give land back" it's a real messthe solution is to just, stop institutional racism that keeps people of a certain ethnicity on hell lands and other in urban capitals with nearly no mobility possible

@chjara The Jewish diaspora didn't actually originate in Israel. A lot of "Jewish people" are decedents from converts in the north, the Palestinians are the majority of the descendants of the "original Jewish people" just mostly converted to Islam. And land back doesn't mean creating an apartheid state, it means giving the people that lived there and were displaced and oppressed a chance to take care of the land under their stewardship instead of colonial power structures to. The Palestinians getting Palestine back is consistent with land back.

@GLaDTheresCake@todon.nl yeah but my point is that giving the land back to the people who lived there "before" quickly breaks down, and like, why should the people who 'run' the land matter really in an ideal democracy? the problem in say the US is that institutional racism and lack of social mobility makes american indians be stuck in bullshit territories, but the solution isn't to give all american land back to them whatever that would mean, simply to yknow fix society

@chjara the point isn't to give the land back to the people that were there "before" it's to give the land to the people oppressed by the colonial power structures, in order to break those down. Land ownership in general should be abolished, that in itself is a European colonial construct. The idea is to free the people, free the land. Not to assign the land to another group. I would say the colonialist did enough harm at this point with "owning" it.

@chjara @GLaDTheresCake "take care of the land under their stewardship" seems like a euphemism for some form of ethnic tier system and I'm certain that in any particular place either there were multiple ethnic groups, unless the only one is because tehy depopulated the others lol
