       Today was a really awesome milestoneI've got a lot wrong with my 50s cottage in rural Ireland some of which I can budge myself! But these last 6 years have been so stressful trying to get workmen to come and keep their promises. I've paid out so much in deposits and materials costs to utter scumbags who just lie and cheat that it's become traumatic to contact the next one on the list. But today after 3 years of begging and pleading and selling flowers to save up the money my kitchen roof was finally fixed. Awesome awesome day! Yippee!

       @Babayaga You are far from alone with this. I’m in Canada and have faced the same shit. We need more women, honest builders, working for a fair price, in this field - they’d have our business for life - plus all of our neighbours’ and relatives’ business too. So many people, even other men my husband has talked to, feel cheated and abused having to deal with anyone in the building trades. What the fuck is wrong with these people!
