Twitter banned Bitcoin Knots Twitter account too. Ffs 😂 At this point I think Dorsey could shoot a Bitcoiner's family member in the street and that Bitcoiner would still use Twitter.

@michaelfolkson it's like people regard twitter as some kind of friend (that can be convinced if you just keep insisting enough) instead of a global social media company 😀

@michaelfolkson this is really sad. Also I apologized initially on his behalf but now I think he said nothing wrong. If someone will try to inject something in my body without consent I will ask them not to do it. If they don't listen I might use my gun.

@prayank Nah. Twitter died long ago when it stopped people sharing an article in private DMs. Garbage site.

@orionwl @michaelfolkson This reminds me of the same people that believe if we just get the right people in political office the system can actually severe the people like it's supposed to. Twitter and the political machine will both do as they please regardless of what their customers want.

@beachbardave Of course. My point is those who value First Amendment or general free speech principle should minimize the time they spend on that property.

@beachbardave It is clear Dorsey doesn't give a f*** about First Amendment or free speech.

@beachbardave Which is bizarre when Bitcoin is attempted freedom to transact.

@michaelfolkson @beachbardave Twitter is controlled by Wall street. Dorsey owns less than 2% of it. He doesn't have the power to do anything controversial.

@jcbrand @beachbardave I guess it depends on your perspective on what is "controversial". I would deem censoring private DMs on a platform highly controversial. https://rumble.com/vd0hfx-project-veritas-recording-exposes-twitters-censorship-abuses.html

@michaelfolkson @beachbardave Totally agree, I meant controversial from the perspective of the powers that be (mainly advertisers).

@jcbrand @michaelfolkson @beachbardave In their point of view, allowing free speech of radical ideas is definitely controversial.

@michaelfolkson @jcbrand indeed but when everyone knows big social media platforms are bullshit it should come as a surprise or shock. This is why places like this exist. There's a lack of consistency with peoples' view of FOSS.

@beachbardave @michaelfolkson TBH, lots of communities IRL and online get degraded and lose their magic when the mob joins. Would be nice to have more people in fedi, but careful what you wish for 😅

@beachbardave @michaelfolkson Fedi is still at the point where everyone using it is special (or weird or an outcast) in some kind of way. I kinda like that. It often feels like the late 90s internet before centralized social media existed and only weirdos hung out online.

@lizard @michaelfolksonat least the political system in democratic countries ostensibly is designed with the intent to do this (i'm well aware of the failure modes)big tech companies like twitter don't even have the pretense of a political process, you have no rights—are you even a customer?—it's more surprising where the blind trust comes from

@jcbrand @michaelfolkson @beachbardave he has the power to resign in protest at the censorship, if nothing else.

@orionwl @michaelfolkson I'm only still there, fwiw, to use the API to collect the tweets from immunologists and researchers and to occasionally connect with vendors. It really is a degenerate place. I made the mistake of following a bunch of Chinese propaganda mouthpieces: wow, incredible the stuff they post. Just.. incredible.
