Anonymous with a capital A.If a group that was busted by the feds 10 years ago, suddenly comes back and is doing something, it is with the consent of federal law enforcement, perhaps at their direction.

@GI_Jack I always thought the idea of Anonymous was it wasn't a single group.

@stunder I mean, that is what Anonymous said, but everyone who kinda knew what happened knew it was from 4chan, and then later branched out in the other chans when 4chan started clamping down on them (/b/ day)Then there was the /i/ board, for invasions. Anonymous was just a personification of the everyman of n-chan. The "other" person you are talking to.the /i/ board rotated depending on admins and legal trouble. It was back when most non-techies where new on the internet, security for social media sites fucking sucked, there was no 2FA, no one used/had password managers, no backoff/fail2ban on most of these services that got easily password guessed.I guess it fanned out after operation chanology, but at its heart it was nothing more than a collective "hecker named 4 chin" just doing typical 4chan shit, except the nazi shit was "ironic"* back then. But at all stages, there was a leadership clique that very much had names and hung out on IRC or other media.* note the quotes.
