Diving into LV2 plugins with #Ardour tonight, and some of it is truly staggering. You can just cram and cram and cram more LV2 instruments into it. #Helm in particular is really cool.

@Ricardus For the most part, yes. I ended up switching to Ubuntu Studio for the time being, because it has enough wrapper stuff on the back end to patch various things together. The only downside is that my USB microphone remains a mystery.I plan on eventually diving into PipeWire to hopefully unify all of my audio interfaces together for easier recording and composition, but that's entirely new territory.

@sean Which install did you end up going with? LTS or the other?

@Ricardus Ubuntu Studio 21.04. I kind of wanted to get packages that were a little more up-to-date.

@sean I used to go with the distro with quicker updates but I found particularly for studio work that I wanted longer stability so I started going with the LTS distros and have been much happier. Having to update the OS so frequently might break things when you're in the middle of a project. Or not even when you're in the middle of a project.

@Ricardus That's an interesting point, and definitely one worth considering.

@Ricardus This release ships with Ardour 6.6.0, which feels like a deep improvement from the last time I picked up Ardour. I think last time I tried it, I was using Ardour 5?
