@LaylaAlexandrovna I'm not Canadian, but in California here in the U.S., our horrible, sexist governor wasn't recalled. I felt so defeated when that happened, so my heart goes out to you.

@diversity_racket I don't see how they could have counted the western votes yet...but still I find it very odd that there weren't any PPC seats. Sick fuck is gonna cream us. Scary.

@rainynebula True, but it has seemed all along that the cons haven't opposed the libs. They are a pathetic opposition and the libs have just done whatever they wanted including spending $380 bill on the coof! :grr: Totally fed up. I may have to stay away longer. Anyone want to rent my apt!?!?!

@LaylaAlexandrovna I found that odd, too. So far:Greens got 294,455 (2.3%) votes and won 2 seats.PPC got 675,110 (5.2%) votes and have zero seats. So my dumb dumb question is...does that mean if we had proportional representation, PPC votes would be more evenly represented? Cause right now PPC has almost double the votes, but zero seats.

@GrumpyOldNurse @rainynebula I've tried it before and always end up in shite situations with shitey renters. Also I only rent and the owners don't like it. It's tricky. I might have to look for work! LOL.

@diversity_racket I was never fully able to understand that new system that was supposed to be so much better and then we never got it but yes, my limited understanding is that the PPC should have got more seats. I so shite at understanding numbers at ALL!!! I'm also super pissed off that fuckhead stays on. Not that I was convinced the PPC would have made a difference but I'm actually scared now.

@LaylaAlexandrovna Yeah, me too... Our current system doesn't make any logical sense at all. It wouldn't have made a difference but it would have been historically significant and symbolically would say a lot about Canadians priorities. If any other Canadian Spinsters can explain these numbers, I would be so grateful 😅

@diversity_racket @LaylaAlexandrovna it makes plenty of sense when you remember that it wasn't supposed to be gamed by political parties - you vote for the member of parliament, *not* the party. proportional representation would be a windfall gift of power to the political parties at the cost of independents who still can and sometimes do challenge their near-monopoly over our political systemthe votes were spread across each riding, and you need to actually be the highest voted for candidate in order to win a riding
