       I can’t believe Apple is still fighting back on #spyPhone. Don’t they understand they’ve already ruined their reputation on privacy?Also, I fail to see how throwing away an absolute competitive advantage (https://ar.al/notes/apple-vs-google-on-privacy-a-tale-of-absolute-competitive-advantage/) doesn’t violate their fiduciary duty to their shareholders. Either they’re making a huge mistake or they can actually justify the loss based on the worse outcome not implementing it would lead to in the US. Which would make me wonder what they’d been threatened with.

       @aral it seems they're considering "everyone stores their dara in corporate clouds, where it can be and I'd routinely scanned (for CSAM, wink sink)" as the baseline because that's the convenient route most people take.  Except no one really read the TOS they've been relying on, no one truly consented to having their data scanned.
