#1 - they are creating a safe passage to ensure that the Americans (and others, sure, but my focus here is on US citizens) can travel in safety to the airport.Maybe. But you'd think if that was the case, they would simply declare a curfew and clear the streets.So I'm ruling it out at this point.

#2 - their focus is solely on Afghan SIVs, as well as Afghans who assisted Americans. Maybe. They're apparently finding and executing these people already.But if that was the case, why wouldn't they have simply separated American citizens from everyone else by now, and transported them to Kabul airport?This would presumably be straightforward.

#3 - they have zero intention of letting anyone anywhere near the airport and are sealing the Americans in place, until they decide what to do with them.They can also separate the US troops from the Americans. The US military can simply languish at the airport and leave when they want.This is plausible.

#4 - the plan is to lure the Americans to the airport itself and to seal it off as a giant prison, along with the US troops.This is plausible. I've suspected that this may be the plan all along.It would definitely be the most humiliating outcome for The Great Satan. But it would come at a cost to the Taliban, as the US troops would presumably kill as many Talibs as they could before being defeated.However don't put it past the Taliban. They are bloodthirsty and would love the fight.

There are other scenarios and it's impossible to work out what will happen.However, I think we all have to accept reality.There is absolutely nothing to be gained by the Taliban, from allowing the Americans out. The Taliban know that would give the US leverage to take adverse action against them (eg bomb the crap out of them).I also doubt we can bribe them. Pallets of cash ain't gonna work, in this situation.

Sure, they may take a US bribe from Biden and his suckers. But then they'll renege on the deal.China can likely offer them more $ to prevent any release of Americans.And their hatred of America is too intense, anyway.I keep coming back to the jail/prison strategy. Why?We have to remember that some of these new Taliban leaders were actually at GITMO. They would know other Islamic extremists who were there, too. It would have been the most humiliating experience of their lives.

Imagine their hatred of America.And Americans.Then throw in their entire lives of extreme violence and killing. The Taliban have 10,000 American citizens trapped. They also know more US troops are arriving at an airport that is in their full control. And they know that the Biden regime are desperate, stupid, incompetent - and a bunch of weak cowards.The Taliban can do whatever they want. China, Russia, Pakistan etc will back them, 100%.

@Nopasa I sure hope that the plan isn't to send in US troops.The Taliban aren't drugged up Somalians. They're a very effective, organized, well armed military force.American troops would be slaughtered. It would be a suicide mission. And not one American citizen would be helped.However - it is precisely the type of stupid idea that Biden, Lloyd Austin & Milley would think of, so don't be surprised if it happens.
