Interesting development. I live in a small coastal town in Massachusetts, with a beach. A hot summer weekend means crowds. Today was an annual festival, with booths, food, concerts.It was cancelled last year, of course. But it was full on today. Hundreds of people - narrow streets, as is typical for New England towns.Yet I counted perhaps a dozen masks. No indoor mask requirements, although several people keep masking.We were among the top five most locked down states. Quite a shift

@timr i went to a library today to print something out. during the pandemic they were curbside pickup of books only, nobody allowed inside. I went in today, librarian was masked, but did not ask me to, even after I sneezed. Their hours are still greatly reduced, though, due to understaffing

@timr I went to the state fair here in Delaware a few weeks ago and it was crowded and 98% of everyone was maskless.A few young idiots mainly, but most no one. The ones that pissed me off were parents who had their kids masked. 😡

@timr Yeah. I think Maryland is going the same (originally from there, still go there since that's where my karate is, family, work...) way. You have one or two that are still crazy, but mostly it's good.

@umad80 @timr I see more than you do down here in Florida. That is surprising but we also have a very elderly demographic . I am always stunned to still see so many masking up . The delta has em all panicked

@LakePacificLover @timr Even a perfectly fitted N95 or N100 will NOT prevent a virus.(says so right on the box) and they become unsanitary VERY fast.THIS is what you need to wear to prevent a virusand even it is not foolproof..requiring TRAINING and a strict protocol to put on and remove.

@timr I spent 4 summers with my grandparents in south Wellfleet. They built the house in the late 1950's and we were a five minute walk from the dunes down to the beach on the Atlantic side. It was amazing!! Very grateful for those times and experiences.
