This is long(that's what she said)but it is a meta analysis of 14 different studies for ivermectin and covid. The results are placed neatly in charts on the summary of findingsconclusion: "Overall, the reliable evidence available does not support the use ivermectin for treatment or prevention of COVID‐19 outside of well‐designed randomized trials"Do with it as you willhttps://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD015017.pub2/full#CD015017-tbl-0001

ACTUAL CONCLUSION: "... we are UNCERTAIN about the efficacy and safety of ivermectin used to treat or prevent COVID‐19... INTERESTING DATA... Even with severe study limitations, ivermectin alone showed a 40-45% improvement in death and clinical worsening data (attached).LIMITATIONS: Started with 318 studies, allowed 13. Only three were outpatient, where ivermectin is most effective. EXCLUDED: Effective multi-protocol treatment with doxycycline Do with it as you will!@watch4thedrop

@watch4thedrop This doesn’t surprise me. I have tried ivermectin in covid patients and am not impressed. If one more person says, “but did you read the testimonials” I may gag them with a mask…

@doctorsuz Many doctors seem to share this perspective. I have received maybe 3 prescriptions for ivermectin for the entire year.

An interesting new Ivermectin study from Israel:“Our study shows first and foremost that ivermectin has antiviral activity,” Schwartz said. “It also shows that there is almost a 100% chance that a person will be noninfectious in four to six days, which could lead to shortening isolation time for these people. This could have a huge economic and social impact.”The typical cost is less than a $1 a day.https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.05.31.21258081v1MORE: #DotardVax #DotardNews @doctorsuz @watch4thedrop

@watch4thedrop I read your link. It also says, "Therefore, ivermectin's potential to restrict the disease's progression, or even its outbreak, indicates that it is possibly an effective antiviral agent."I understand why years of clinical trials are necessary for an off label medicine. They want to make sure it's truly effective for most people

@watch4thedrop Thanks for the link. At this point in time, I would still def use it early. The safety profile is good enough for me to prescribe it to at least 'try,' especially in a vulnerable patient. @RGReader

@watch4thedrop I have written a few but use the opportunity to explain how the vaccine works and why all the paranoia is unwarranted.I’m having to fight a tendency to be really PISSED when people who had ample opportunity to get the vaccine choose to become seriously ill instead— and drag me into dealing with the consequences of their poor choice.

@EarlThePearls Yes! Agree. I have upped Vit D, Vit C and zinc to keep immune system humming. We had the vaccine, and we had anti viral drug therapies, convalescent plasma etc...and ICU/ventilators for the very sick. I had been hoping to hear more about the early treatment protocols that are working...we really have come a long way from early days...and @doctorsuz thread is just more positive news. I would say....good days ahead for all of us. 😊

I understand your concerns, I have the same. But Drug companies will never support studies for $1 medications. Here are some other trials:https://c19ivermectin.comSince there are no approved meds, if I catch COVID, my doctor won't treat me until I'm hospitalized. So I take hydroxychloroquine weekly and have doxycycline and ivermectin ready. If I get sick it's low-risk & may improve my chances. While it may not work, it's a better solution than Theraflu!@watch4thedrop @peaceofresistance
